Get unstuck and become a lifelong learner

What does becoming a lifelong learner look like?

Developing the skills of a lifelong learner is a key capacity of anybody who wants to develop and maintain their wellbeing & resilience and improve their capacity at school.

Our wellbeing and resilience become threatened when we are stuck. We can feel stuck with a subject, topic area, friend, relationship, or personal goal. Learning is how we can get unstuck, because usually the thing we need to DO to get us unstuck is a skill we need to LEARN.

This introduction will help you determine whether this course is right for you.

If you decide to enroll, you will learn some key insights about what it means to become a lifelong learner. You will complete a survey which will help you reflect and identify elements that are helping or hindering you when learning within a specific context. You will be able to make a personal plan to develop your capacity based on your challenges, and you will be taught an evidence-based strategy to use and apply in your own environment to improve your learning potential.

This course is divided into six learning modules:

  1. Getting started
  2. Every human can learn
  3. My Learning Space Tracker - your personal report
  4. Plan to improve your learning capacity
  5. A STARR strategy to improve your learning potential.
  6. Summarise and think about the future

You will get as much out of this course as you put in.

The videos and tasks are designed for you to complete in as much or as little detail as you prefer. Some questions will be easy and some you may find harder. Do your best to answer every question, even if this takes some time.

You will be provided with a worksheet for each module. It is recommended you print out the PDF worksheet page for each module and complete the tasks when requested.

If you do not have access to a printer just use blank A4 paper to capture your learning.

You will be able to check your knowledge at the end of the course via a quiz and complete a feedback form so we can continue to improve this program for others.

The content is designed for high school and young adult learners. Primary school learners could complete the course with a parent supporting them throughout. Adult learners will also be able to relate to the course thinking about their high school or post-school learning experiences.
